Bon Bonbon named Champion Chocolate at the 2026 Perth Royal Food Awards
Bon Bonbon has been named Champion Chocolate at the 2026 Perth Royal Food Awards, taking home the competition's highest honour less than a year after opening its East Fremantle studio to the public.
Competing against 90 entries from 17 producers across Australia, Bon Bonbon achieved a clean sweep across every category it entered, receiving two Champion titles, four Gold medals and one Silver medal.
The Perth Royal Food Awards are judged blind by an independent panel of industry experts, meaning each entry is assessed solely on its flavour, texture, craftsmanship and technical execution.
Bon Bonbon received the following awards:
🏆 Champion Chocolate – 12 Piece Signature Collection Box
🏆 Champion Boxed Chocolate – 12 Piece Signature Collection Box
🏆 Champion Individual Chocolates – Single Variety, Moulded Shell – Lime Caramel Bonbon
🥇 Gold – Lime Caramel Bonbon
🥇 Gold – Honey Myrtle Macadamia
🥇 Gold – Lamont's Muscat Bonbon
🥇 Gold – 12 Piece Signature Collection Box
🥈 Silver – 12 Bonbons of Christmas
The Lime Caramel Bonbon, a milk chocolate shell filled with lime caramel ganache, achieved an outstanding score of 97.5 out of 100, with judges praising its appearance, texture and quality of finish.
The judges described the 12 Piece Signature Collection as displaying "technical perfection", with "outstanding" shine and presentation, noting the exciting variety of textures throughout the collection.
The Lamont's Muscat Bonbon, created in collaboration with Lamont's Winery, also received a Gold medal and scored 97 out of 100. Judges praised its excellent appearance, shell thickness, texture and well-rounded flavour profile.
"To receive this recognition less than a year after opening our doors to the public is an incredible honour for our small team," said founder Di Bain.
"Because the awards are judged blind, this recognition is especially meaningful. It means our chocolates were evaluated purely on flavour, craftsmanship and quality.
"Our ambition has always been to elevate the chocolate gifting experience by pairing exceptional flavour with beautiful design. Every bonbon is painted, filled and finished by hand in our East Fremantle studio, and we're thrilled that our commitment to quality and creativity has been recognised at the highest level.
"Chocolate brings people joy, and that's what inspires us every day."
Bon Bonbon opened in September 2025 and creates small-batch artisan chocolates from its boutique studio at 88a George Street, East Fremantle.
